About

About

Bonham Environmental is a family owned and operated small business. It was founded in 2019 by the owner Robin Bonham. Her mission was to help in the effort of mitigating the invasive pest, the Spotted Lanternfly. This invasive species, (Lycorma delicatula) is native to China and was first detected in Pennsylvania in September 2014. The Spotted lanternfly feeds on a wide range of fruit, ornamental and woody trees, with tree-of-heaven being one of the preferred hosts. Spotted lanternflies are invasive and can be spread long distances by people who move infested material or items containing egg masses. If allowed to spread in the United States, this pest could seriously impact the country’s grape, orchard, and logging industries.

In the summer of 2022, the company expanded into statewide control efforts with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and is now expanding again to help residents rid their properties of the pest before their desirable plants are damaged.
